It was a memorable day at Pharma-Deko Nigeria Limited located at the industrial estate, Agbara, Ogun state as the management and staff received the President, Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN) Pharm. (Prof.). Cyril Odianose Usifoh FPSN.
The Managing Director Mr. Isola Oluwole Olukayode, in his opening remarks, expressed joy seeing the President of PSN at his premises, noting it was a rare privilege for them to host a serving PSN President. Praising Prof Usifoh’s efforts to reposition the pharmaceutical sector in Nigeria, Mr. Isola said the high operational cost (coupled with the only major road being in a terrible state of disrepair for years), challenges in getting forex, government policies, and the inability of many manufacturing companies in the pharma industry to produce API’s locally as part of the many problems facing the sector.
In his address, Pharm. (Prof.) Cyril Usifoh FPSN stated that despite the level of development in the Pharma industry, the Pharmaceutical sector lacks the needed recognition and attention it deserves from the government and policymakers. Prof Cyril Usifoh made it clear that his team is on a mission to reposition the Pharmaceutical industry in Nigeria for the good of everyone involved with the interest of Nigerians at heart. He also stressed the need for professionalism and collaboration between the industry players such as PSN, NAPA, NAIP, ACPN, and more. In conclusion, he expressed hope for the bright future of the Pharmaceutical sector in Nigeria
