Dear Colleagues, further to my note last Saturday that we will review today, the status of things regarding our Annual National Conference scheduled to hold in Oshogbo, Osun State Nov 2-7, 2020, I wish to update you on how things stand.
After extensive reviews and consultations with many stakeholders especially the host branch, the LOC and the CPC, our exhibitors and critical leaders of Our Society, we have come to the following conclusions:
- The current curfew in Osun State will be lifted any time soon, certainly this week
- The curfews in many other States are being relaxed and we are assured that all States will fully lift all curfews this week.
- No one can fully guarantee what may happen in the months ahead.
Given this scenario, and relying on the doctrine of necessity we have decided to move the date of the conference to 9-14 November 2020 (one-week extension).
We regret the inconvenience created by this slight adjustment but it has become inevitable.
We pray that God will fully restore peace to every part of Nigeria during this week to allow us to travel down to Oshogbo in the next two weeks. I know the love we all have for our Society and trust that many of us will endeavor to be physical in Oshogbo. Remember that despite the Security threats by this time last year, Crocodile city 2019 turned out to be the best-attended conference in recent history.
God bless us all
