Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria, Cross River team welcomed the PSN President, Pharm. (Mazi) Sam Ohuabunwa on arrival at Margaret Ekpo international Airport, Calabar on Wednesday, 13th November, 2019.
On the 14th of November, he met with PSN Cross River key stakeholders and members at Dannic Hotel Calabar.
In attendance were Chairman PSN Cross River, Pharm. Ekpenyong Effiong and Exco members, Chairman PSN Board of Fellows and Dean Faculty of Pharmacy UNICAL, Prof. Mbang Femi-Oyewo, MFR FPSN, DPS Cross River Ministry of Health, Dr Eyo Nsa FPSN, Pastor (Pharm.) Ernest Attoe FPSN, Representatives of ACPN CRS, AHAPN CRS, ALPS CRS, NAPA CRS and PSN-YPG CRS.
The day was concluded with an advocacy visit to His Excellency, the Deputy Governor of Cross River State, Prof. Ivara Esu.
Critical and far reaching issues bothering on the progress of the Pharmacy profession in the State were discussed. These include:
- Stamping out of the proliferation of illegal premises (especially Pharmaceuticals) from the practice space in CRS.
- Strengthening Pharmacists workforce in the State by supporting the Faculty of Pharmacy UNICAL.
- Appointment of more Pharmacists to position of Permanent Secretary in the State Civil Service
- PSN National collaborating more with the state branch in terms of involvement in committees and National activities.
